More About Everett…

“We treat your land as if it’s our own.”

Everett Cass – Owner

While Everett was born in Windsor, VT his family lived in Cornish, NH where he grew up. As a teenager he worked on nearby dairy farms where he learned about caring for cattle, the dairy business and to operate and repair farm equipment.

After graduating from Lebanon high school he joined the Navy and became part of the crew of the USS Bennington, an aircraft carrier, during the Vietnam era.

After returning home, he learned to shoe horses at the same time he was working as an electrical linesman for a local electric company. After six years with the power company, the love of farming called to him so bought a farm in western VT. In a very short time he became a successful dairy farmer. Everett did all kinds of excavation including bulldozing, land levelling, ditching, road building and construction of several out buildings while on the farm.

After 13 years, Cornish beckoned Everett to return, so he sold the cattle, the farm and equipment and bought 63 acres of land in Cornish that he cleared and prepared for the log cabin he built on the property.

In 1987 he started the excavating business, while shoeing horses on the side.

Thanks to many satisfied clients, the business has grown over the years. Everett will continue to treat clients as friends and will treat each job as if it’s his own.

Kind Words…

We have utilized the services of Everett Cass for projects over the past few years and have been extremely pleased with the results. The first project involved the installation of a large and complicated septic system that, among other activities, involved the placement of three large concrete tanks in a narrow space lined with substantial trees that could have toppled into the 50-foot-long excavation ditch but did not. The project went out for competitive bid which Everett won by a considerable margin but he did not cut any corners when all was said and done. In light of his performance with the septic system we chose him for site work at a new house we built. A wet and difficult site but he engineered a drainage system and grading that has resulted in a bone-dry basement even as spring run-off surrounds the foundation. He also built the driveway and installed the septic system. I would highly recommend Everett for any excavation work needed. He has an impressive assortment of machines designed for specialized tasks and, most importantly, is fair and honest.
